Week 36

We're in the home stretch, everybody! We made it home from family vacation and slept hard. I was exhausted from the trip and I'm thankful to be sticking close to home for the next month-ish.

So, here's where we're at.

How far along: 36 weeks

Size of baby: The size of a honeydew melon, romaine lettuce, or a cabbage patch doll.

Gender: Unknown--take the poll on the right. Also, take the survey about baby here. Really...take the survey...someone will win a prize!

Nursery: So close to being done! We've got a few projects to finish and a few things to hang on the wall...otherwise, we're getting there. I put a few sneak peeks on yesterday's post...you can find that here.

Movement:
Baby is still moving quite a bit. His/her most active times of day are morning 9-11ish and evening 9-midnight.

Symptoms:
Heartburn. Exhaustion (I've taken so many naps already...).

Sleep: Still sleeping pretty well. It's tough to get out of bed for the bathroom in the middle of the night, but I figure it out.

Cravings:
Pineapple salsa from my baby shower a few weeks ago...

Missing:
My ankles and motivation.

Best moment of the week: Our appointment on Monday...baby's heartrate was strong and things are progressing!

Looking forward to:
Seeing if any progress has been made by next Wednesday's appointment and hopefully meeting our nugget soon!

Happy Thursday!

Just a little update...

Summer is here and we've been busy over the last week or so. So far we've gotten a few things done.

The garden is planted.
We've got beans, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, corn, carrots, squash, & watermelon.

Our new(!) window boxes are up and planted:

Kyle's made progress on the nursery, aka--it's almost done!:

The door frame is done.
The baseboards are getting done for now.

We've taken a few more baby prep classes...hopefully they actually come in handy. Our car seat has been installed and inspected. :)

This was our practice doll at class last night.

We're home from vacation and sticking close for now.

And that's a wrap for today.

Happy Wednesday!

Week 35

Wowza. Sorry this post is a little late. It's already Friday and I've not posted anything! We've been having a great week with family in Duluth and we've not had much down time. But, here goes...

How far along: 35 weeks (and 5 days)

Size of baby: The size of a spaghetti squash, a child's backpack, or a honeydew melon.

Gender: Unknown--take the poll on the right. Also, take the survey about baby here. Really...take the survey...someone will win a prize!

Nursery: We're almost done!! *Fingers crossed* We got our new rug in the mail on Monday, so when we get back this weekend, we will be putting it down then. Stay tuned for pics!

Movement:
LOTS of movement. S/he is moving, but it's mostly the big moves. Throwing hips from side-to-side and general shifting seem to be his/her MO.

Symptoms:
Heartburn. Swollen ankles (especially this week...hiking & the heat have done me in). Exhaustion.

Sleep: Still sleeping hard, when I sleep. I'm waking up around 2 and 4 every morning to use the bathroom...but I've been able to fall back asleep. Thank goodness!

Cravings:
Not terribly much this week. Fruit still sounds good. :)

Missing:
My ankles. :(

Best moment of the week: Our baby shower last Saturday and spending time with family this week!

Looking forward to:
Sleeping in my bed again and we are transitioning into our weekly appointments...so we get to hear baby's heartbeat again!

Happy Friday!!

Week 34

I had hoped, hoped, HOPED to get a post up yesterday with a few updates, but alas that was not to be. But, I do have your very exciting weekly update with only 5.5 (hopefully) weeks to go.

How far along: 34 weeks (!)

Size of baby: The size of a butternut squash, an average (what is average anyway??) cantaloupe, a muskmelon, or a cabbage

Gender: Unknown--take the poll on the right. Also, take the survey about baby here. Really...take the survey...someone will win a prize!

Nursery: Door trim is finished and baseboards are close! Kyle says we're a day (-ish) away from being ready to set it up!

Movement:
Baby is still wiggling constantly and I'm so grateful for that. S/he seems so comfy in there...

Symptoms:
We finally turned our A/C on and it feels so much better. I'm still dealing with some pretty rough heartburn and I'm starting to waddle.

Sleep: I'm still struggling with rolling over, but I'm sleeping like a rock. It's been so nice (as long as the A/C is working).

Cravings:
This week has been chicken pasta salad...so I made a huge bowl of it on Sunday so I could eat it throughout the week.

Missing:
I'm missing being capable of cooling down my own body...I don't like the heat of the summer to begin with, but this being pregnant business...so much harder.

Best moment of the week: We took a Childbirth Prep class this week and it was so helpful!

Looking forward to:
My first baby shower is this weekend!

Happy Wednesday!

Week 33

With the first week of summer vacation almost over (I know.), I realized that week 33 is almost over and I have yet to write about it. So did it really happen if I didn't write about it?! I think not.

How far along: 33 weeks...8-ish months.

Size of baby: The size of a pineapple (I feel like these are repeats...), a stalk of celery, a head of cauliflower, or a junior tennis racket.

Gender: Unknown--take the poll on the right. Also, take the survey about baby here. Really...take the survey...someone will win a prize!

Nursery: Doors are in...floor is sanded and finished...next up (today hopefully) door trim and tomorrow/this weekend...baseboards!

Movement:
Movement has turned into more of the big shifts. Not so much the jabs anymore...now baby is shifting hips or trying to stretch...

Symptoms:
Tired and warm all of the time. It might be time to turn our air conditioning on...

Sleep: It's hard to roll over...but I manage it while I'm asleep, somehow. I still sleep pretty well. We'll see what happens in the next 6-ish weeks.

Cravings:
Not much this week...probably carbs and protein?

Missing:
Being able to regulate my body temp better. It's too warm for me in the summer when I'm not pregnant...but now...no fun.

Best moment of the week: School's out! And we heard baby's heartbeat at our appointment. Our NP said baby is head down and looking like s/he's almost ready to go.

Looking forward to:
Getting the nursery done!

Our garden is in...now we just have to water every day. hah.

Happy Thursday!

Week 32

Two Months. Two months left. Here's where we're at during week 32.

How far along: 32 weeks, baby!

Size of baby: the size of a large jicama, a squash, bok choy, or a Florida pomelo.

Gender: Unknown--take the poll on the right. Also, take the survey about baby here.

Nursery: Kyle just finished painting the trim on Monday and he painted the ceiling on Tuesday. Things are moving!

Movement:
Constant. Many times I have to urge baby to get out of my ribs with his/her butt. That's fun.

Symptoms:
So. Tired.

Sleep: I've been waking up at least once a night and when I stand up, everything aches. But since I'm able to fall back asleep, I can't complain too much. :)

Cravings:
Still fruit. And now that the weather is warming up, I could go for a nice cold Blue Moon.

Missing:
Being able to walk normally and not waddle...I suppose that's to be expected in the last few months.

Best moment of the week: Realizing that school is almost done and we can start working more on our projects for the house!

Looking forward to:
Summer. Getting our garden planted!

Graduation is tonight, so everything's about to get even busier!!

Happy Thursday!
