Update on Jackson from Amanda's FB as of 2/14: Update as of 2/14 from Amanda's Facebook:  first of all Jackson says he's sorry to everyone he scared yesterday with his episodes & hopes each of you have a very blessed & Happy Valentines Day; he sends his slobbery kisses to all of you!💋💋♥️♥️
Jackson had a rough night/morning but so far since about 5:00am he's been holding steady and resting. He's grumpy but who wouldn't be after the day he had yesterday.

Update on Charlotte: She had surgery yesterday (Jan. 9, 2017) and everything went well! They were able to operate under her arm instead of opening her chest. The surgery was shorter than anticipated and her mom and dad were able to see her yesterday. Thank you for your prayers!

Update on Jackson: He is having a feeding tube placed today (Jan. 10, 2017) and will continue therapy for his strength.

It's 2017 and we're off to a bang in the Entzel house. Lewis got sick over break and I came down with a fever of 102 on Monday. We were fortunate enough to get a(nother!) snow day on Tuesday. And Lewis and I were still sick on Wednesday...so snuggles and extra sleep were needed.

All three of us are back to the grind of work and daycare and there are so many happy and sad things happening right now.

On a happy note, my cousin, Paula, got married Dec 30. The ceremony was short and sweet and they were married by the end of it. So it was totally a success. Lewis wowed the guests with his "perfect bald head", and "how cute he is". So a smashing success all around.

Lewis turned FIVE months on Monday. *Lest you think I forgot, I'll be having a five month post here in short order.* He's a ham and we love him so.

I mean, c'mon. Look at that pose. *heart eyes* And apparently that arm drape pose is his new thing...because this next photo was from Tuesday when we both felt crummy.

And on to some more somber news. I'm in a mom's facebook group of moms who were all due in July. (A good handful of us never actually gave birth in July, but it's the thought that counts, right?)

There are two little babes from this group who need some prayers and support. Sweet baby Charlotte has a heart condition that needs to be corrected. She's going in for heart surgery on Monday. If you would wear purple and pray for her that day, her family would appreciate it. Charlotte's family chose purple as her color because:

"Since her diagnosis, we've been praying that God would heal Charlotte's heart, either by miracle or by surgery. However, what's more important than God healing her physical heart is that some day He transform her heart from a heart of stone to a heart of flesh, thus making her a daughter of the King. This has been a prayer for our little girl since before she was born. We all know that any daughter of any king is called a princess. So, we chose purple because it is known as the color of royalty, and we want more than anything for our Charley Bug to someday be a daughter of THE King."

Excuse me while my goosebumps subside and I cry a little. My heart goes out to this beautiful family and let's lift them up in prayer before, during, and after Charlotte's surgery on Monday.

The second little babe is Jackson. He's had many hurdles to overcome since his birth over 5 months ago. He's a trooper and he's sick again. His momma is not able to work as she's with him at the hospital for all of his tests and it's going to be even more of a strain on their family. I've included a link to their GoFundMe account. If you feel like you'd be willing to support this little family, they'd appreciate it greatly. If you're unable to contribute financially, please pray for them as well. He's a trooper and really so sweet.

And last but not least, there's a sweet lady I have been following on IG for quite some time now. She's so genuine and lovely. They're a God fearing family and it radiates from them. A few days ago, I saw that her most recent post was that her husband was in the hospital with bilateral pneumonia (basically, double pneumonia). He was on a ventilator and struggling. And a day or so ago, she posted that her husband and best friend went home to be with his Savior. This sweet family has four children who love their father dearly. He will be greatly missed and my heart aches for them. Please, please pray for them as well. Ruthanne's IG handle is @ruthannegenco. Go read her posts and her blog. I'm sorry that today's post is so heavy. I tried to start off on a lighter note, but the sad and hard things have just appeared recently. Join me in celebrating the good start to 2017 and also join me in praying for those who are having a rough start.

Here Comes the Bride...

You know what that means, right? You've got it. Another wedding. Since the beginning of 2015 we've attended weddings in Fargo (1), Bismarck (1), Mayville (1),  Grand Forks (2), Montevideo (1), and Hudson (1). We were also invited to three that we couldn't attend in Fargo (1) and Grand Forks (2).

We are rounding out our 2015 wedding season with a wedding in Jamestown.

The awesome thing about the wedding this weekend, is that we don't have to pay for a hotel! We are fortunate enough that we'll be able to stay with Kyle's parents and celebrate til the cows come home (or buffalo, whichever). 

Family will be in town and it will be glorious. One thing I love about spending time with Kyle's family is that the weekend will be filled with baby snuggles from our niece, late night games, lazy mornings, and lots of coffee. All things lovely.

The thing I struggle with most when it comes to weddings is, "What do I buy them?" I know, I know...just follow the registry. And as easy as that is, some of our favorite gifts weren't on our registry. 

I mean really, how cute are these??

I don't think you can register for hand embroidered flour sack towels. Maybe somewhere, but I've never seen it.

I also loved this pitcher that we got.

We use(d) it frequently...and then someone found out that really hot water shouldn't run in/on it. Don't look at me. 

And even though we loved most of the stuff that wasn't on our registry, we did receive some things that we've not even taken out of the box yet. And because I'm not sure who all reads this here blog, I won't even show you what those items are.

Vacation: Family, Friends, and Contest Winners

Well, you may have noticed that I've been posting about our upcoming vacation and a contest. That contest has closed and we have two winners! Congratulations Aubrey and Ben! Aubrey came in with 8 correct guesses and Ben had 3 correct. Our two winners will now be mailed a prize in the next few weeks!

Day #1: We embarked on our two week vacation last Thursday and our first stop was good ol' Fargo, ND! Our day consisted of the Air Museum, BWW, a Redhawks game, Space Aliens, and The Fiddler on the Roof.

Day #2: Jamestown was the site of our next adventure. Time spent with family is always nice. But when we have the opportunity to spend time with our niece and nephew, we capitalize on that. Since hubs and I didn't see much of the am hours, our afternoon was packed. Canoeing has to happen when Grandpa and Grandma have a river in their backyard. And if that's not enough water time, the local outdoor pool is always a good option. Fortunately Aunt Kelly is the reigning cannonball champion! And after dinner, a nap, and a drive, we ended our day with the gun range and the DQ. 

Day #3: After a quick visit to see hubs' grandma, we left for Fosston (home of Cordwood Pete). A cousin was tying the knot and we were asked to be the host and hostess...so we celebrated with them. It's such a blessing to be able to visit family and to celebrate with them. I think all of my cousins and aunts and uncles were able to make it to the wedding. How fabulous is that? Just being able to support, love, and be with each other is truly a blessing. 

Day #4: Despite our attempts to leave as early as possible (8am), we didn't end up hitting the road until somewhere around 9:30 or 10:00. Oops! So, we popped in our book on CD and left for Sioux Falls, SD. A dear friend of mine lives there and I have missed her dearly. I think it's been almost 3 years since we've seen each other?! Yikes! And her sweet little girl was able to join us for coffee. One hour doesn't suffice when catching up with a friend, but our chat was good for my spirit. I have missed her laughs, her mannerisms, and her sweet heart. 

We did need to keep trucking, so off we went. We finished our trek to Lincoln, NE and met our hosts for the evening. If you have not used or heard of Airbnb, you should check it out! People rent out rooms, couches, guest houses, etc in their homes to others traveling through the area. It's usually pretty reasonable for prices and you get to meet some really great people too! If you're ever in Lincoln and need a place to stay, look up Nicole on Airbnb. She's great!

Day #5: Another long day of driving was ahead of us. Quite a few hours separated us from our next destination: Denver, CO (area). To make a long day of traveling short and sweet...we made a detour in 

Lincoln and then hit the road. 

After supper with a friend in Denver, we spent some down time with family. What we did on day #6, is yet to come. Stay tuned.

...the school year started.

...we went to Denver to see our favorite niece and nephew. 

...Thanksgiving pies, family, & Black Friday shopping.

...our first married Christmas!

...our 3 Valentine's Day together.

...March 9. A year after we got engaged.

...Easter with family.

...FHS 2014 prom. It was a loooong process. 

A year isn't really that long. But it's crazy to think of all of the things that have happened in the last year. I've also finished my first full year of teaching. It's been a good year. It's also been a full year. With only a few weeks left of school, I'm looking forward to relaxing!

Hello! Thank you for stopping by! We are Kyle & Kelly and we just got married this summer. I (Kelly) will probably be doing most of the posting on our blog, Kyle isn't much of a fan of writing...much less blogging.

July 2013

Kyle is an Orchestra director for grades 4-12 and Kelly is an English teacher for grades 7-12. We stay busy and are enjoying the start of our lives together.
