Back on the bandwagon?

I want to get back to this blogging thing. I want to have an outlet. I want to do something for me. But right now, it just seems so difficult. It's been months since I've posted with any regularity. But how do I get back into it? There are days when I just feel like there are no words for this space.

This is my official notice for you that I want to jump on the bandwagon. I have a feeling that this space will become more of a mom space (even moreso than it already has been) and for those of you who don't want to stick around, I will not be offended. But if you choose to sick around, I hope you'll see and understand that as I change, this blog will too.

So for today, I'll leave you with a napping picture.

Fall Break.

Dun dun dun.

Mere hours separate us from Fall Break. Here we go, By the Numbers.

1 more sleep.
2 classes I will have.
3 times I'll eat.
4 times I'll recheck my suitcase.
5 times I'll check my school mail.
6 students to see.
8 times I'll go to the bathroom
10 times I'll check my email.
12 times I'll push "Snooze".
15 times I wish I were sleeping.
18 assignments to grade.
19 hours until we are (hopefully) on the road.

I can't wait.

Help! What should we do?

Okay okay okay. I know you've been dying to know how our House Hunting, but I'm sorry to tell you--"You'll have to wait a little longer..." I know, I know...the suspense is killing you.

BUT! I do have some exciting news! Aubrey, over at Be.Do.Say.Go (in Bangkok), and I are contemplating a new challenge for the new year.

STOP.RIGHT.THERE.

I know what you're thinking, "But for real...it's not even winter yet...don't talk about 2015 yet."

But hold on to your horses. We are wanting to start a blog book club. Sweet Bonnie, over at The Life of Bon, has a virtual book club. You can check it out here. It's pretty great.

I tried to join in last month...and I really fell behind. So, Aubrey and I were thinking we'd trade off months of hosting. 

So, this post is a cry for help from YOU! Yes, my dear readers. You can help us. Please send us one (or five) books you were supposed to read in High School, but never did. You can comment below, give us a shout-out on twitter (see my sidebar to follow me), a tag on Instagram (again...see sidebar), or even on the good ole Book of Faces. Hit us up. Let us know what you "read" in High School (I put read in quotations because your teacher thought you read the book, but you really didn't. Sorry Laurie,  Mary, & Patty!) and we will post a list in the next few months (before Jan.1, scouts honor) so you can join along.

Whew! That was a rough paragraph. My apologies. So...now that I've bored inspired you to think back to High School, good luck!

Our Little Corner of North Dakota

 A guide to your city! Share some of the hot-spots and hidden gems of where you live.

I currently reside in a sweet, bustling (at times), little city in one corner of North Dakota. Upon moving here, 5 years ago (!), I didn't have any friends here. I never wanted to stay here. I also never wanted to even step foot here. Ever.

And then God changed my heart and drew me here. And what do you know, I've never really left.

So welcome to my city! Here are a few of my favorites that if you're ever here, you'll need to check these gems out.

1. The Toasted Frog

This just so happens to be the very place we are going to be celebrating my birthday on Wednesday! They're known for their martinis and their cheesy pickles. If you like cheese, pickles, and anything deep fried...these are perfect for you! The Toasted Frog happens to be one of the best places in town and many out-of-towners make it a "must try" when they visit.

2.  The Parrot's Cay

A hole-in-the-wall bar that serves the best wings in town, happens to be one of the local favorites. Start your week off right with $.99 cheeseburgers on Mondays. Then come back on Wednesday and Thursday for a whole order of wings and a pitcher of beer for only $12! They've also got a wing challenge...beware...it's super hot.

3. Darcy's Cafe

Hands down...my favorite place to eat in town! I love that place. Before we were married, husband would walk to my house on snow days and we'd venture the two blocks from my house to Darcy's. I love their pancakes. So delicious. Oh! And if you're a coffee fan, they've got the best cafe coffee I've ever tasted. No joke. I can't even quote Elf for this claim...because it really is the best cafe coffee ever. If you're wanting to try out Darcy's on a weekend, be warned. It's super busy because people are realizing just how good it is.

5. The Red Pepper

People love the "Pepper" so much that they'll order online...and have it FedEx'd to them! For real! It's a staple in town. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night after a UND hockey game...make sure you're willing to wait in line. They'll get the biggest crowd and for good reason. You must go to the original Red Pepper building for the true experience. They're famous for their grinders and their white sauce. Seriously...their white sauce...SO addicting. And it's a secret recipe--you'll never get it right. Oh...and they only have spoons--no forks. Honest.

And while I know most of the places I've talked about today have been restaurants, there really is more to do when you come to visit. Maybe I'll show off more of my town in a few weeks.

 Okay, okay, okay. You may think this title is a little bit deceiving. Head on over to Bailey Jean's Blog to check out her Blogtember Challenge. I haven't been participating very long, but on the days I've participated, I've really enjoyed it.

So...her prompt for today is "When did you start blogging and why?" And...to be honest, this is my third (?) blog I've written on. My answer to the question for the day, I'm not entirely sure when I started.

This particular blog began last fall. My husband and I got married July 2013, so I figured it would be a fun way for people to keep up with what has been going on in our lives. I sure hope it's been fulfilling that purpose. So keep up with the Blogtember Challenge and see what else will appear!
